Three (3) One-hour online training sessions:
The 4ET50 Electric Drive Unit used in the Gen1 Chevrolet Volt combines two motor generator units, 1 planetary gearset, and 3 clutches to create an innovative propulsion system able to operate in both EV and series/parallel hybrid modes. This online course represents a "deep dive" into the inner workings of the 4ET50 drive unit. Included is a thorough description of its 4 unique operating modes, as well as control system strategy and diagnostics.
This class results in a certificate of completion that will be provided to the participant after successfully completing all online training sessions in the series. The certificate and its stated hours are eligible for NATEF annual credit and may count toward other professional development requirements.

- April 13, 2017 (6:30PM ET): (CONT) Apply Components and Powerflow, 4 Operational Modes - EV single motor/ EV combined 2 motor/Extended Range single motor (series)/ Extended Range combined 2-motor (parallel)
- April 18, 2017 (6:30PM ET): Transmission pressure system, Transmission Control Module (TCM) and electro-hydraulic controls of clutches and mode changes. Shifter Assembly, Scan Tool Parameters, Park Override Procedure (BTSI)
